Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a private child welfare agency having responsibility for recruitment and on-going management and support of foster and adoptive homes for some of Illinois’ most vulnerable children. The foster and adoptive families provide a loving, nurturing and stable home environment for these children, many who have been seriously abused or neglected. Each year Lutheran Social Services sponsors a Christmas party for the foster/adoptive families as a small token of appreciation for the important work they do all year long. If you would like to contribute a gift card or check to Lutheran Social Services please give it to one of the Human Care Board members by November 18th.
We would also like to help support Eastern Illinois Food Bank. Every dollar donated enables the Food Bank to secure $10 worth of food for a household in need. You can either mail a check to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank, 2405 North Shore Drive, Urbana, IL or give it to one of the Human Care Board members.
In addition to your free will offering at the Thanksgiving Dinner on November 18th we ask that you please donate one food item to help restock the Trinity food pantry. Thank you for your help.
The Human Care Board will again sponsor families from King Elementary School for Christmas. Christmas Tree tags will be available in the Narthex to purchase clothes or a toy (not set dollar amount). Return the wrapped present with the Christmas Tree tag attached to the present by December 16th. We are asking the members of Trinity to please help with this community outreach program and share the Joy of our greatest gift – JESUS.
ALL GOOD GIFTS COME FROM HIM.
Human Care is requesting information on our Trinity college students. If you have a student in school, please let us know their current address so we can send cards during the holidays.
We would also like to know if you have a relative in the military so they can also receive a card to let them know how much we appreciate their service.
We need this information by November 11th.
Call the church office at 367-8923 or let a Human Care Board Member know.

Senior Resource Center – Since our beginnings in 1911 by University of Illinois Professor Dr. Edward C. Hayes and leaders of the religious community we have spent nearly one hundred years as a private non profit organization addressing the social service and healthcare needs of the residents of Champaign County. Today we have expanded our opportunities to include an array of programs to serve the specific needs of those who are age 60 or more.
We are committed to help older adults to be able to remain independent and safe in their own homes while preserving their personal dignity. Our HomeCare services surround those we serve with the support needed to stay at home and age gracefully in place. In addition, our expert staff can help individuals apply for local, state, or national programs and services for which they may be eligible such as Medicare Part D, Illinois Care RX, utility assistance and more.
