Goals and Objectives

Our curriculum is based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards and our religion/Bible program. We work on developing skills in:

  • Spiritual Development (i.e., understands that God loves and cares for him/her, as He loves and cares for everyone; believes that Jesus is his/her friend; gives and receives love and forgiveness; joins in talking to God in prayer and singing praise to Him).

  • Social/Emotional Development (i.e., exhibits eagerness and curiosity as a learner, understands and follows rules, engages in cooperative group play, shares materials and takes turns).

  • Physical Development and Health (i.e., develops gross and fine motor coordination, identifies body parts and their functions, acts independently in caring for personal hygiene needs).

  • Intellectual Development:

    1. Language Acts (i.e., identifies some letters, predicts what will happen next using pictures and content for guides, identifies rhyming words and can give rhyming words, uses scribbles or letters to represent written language).

    2. Math (i.e., counts to...; recognizes numerals 0-10; sorts and classifies objects by color, shape, and size; recognizes, copies, and extends simple patterns).

    3. Science (i.e., uses senses to explore and observe materials and natural phenomena; investigates and categorizes living things in the environment; uses common weather-related vocabulary, such as rainy, snowy, sunny, and windy).

    4. Social Science (i.e., recognizes the reason for rules, participates in voting as a way of making choices, identifies community workers and the services they provide).
